November 10 The Triumph of Forgiveness-Psalm 32:1-7

When people are in deep trouble for committing crimes or serious sins, even though they are not bound by laws, their conscience will catch up with what they did in the inglorious past for their wrong doings. They feel miserable and full of guilt but the only way is to confess and ask for God’s mercy and forgiveness.

In the case of David after he committed adultery and murder of Bathsheba’s husband, one of his loyal soldier. How can he get away with these ugly incidents behind him, the guilty effects of his actions stayed. What brought relief? Relief began with confession to God and accepting the forgiveness He offers. Psalm 32:5 says, Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD.” And you forgave the guilt of my sin.””

What a great place for us to start—at the place of God’s mercy—when we say or do things that cause hurt and harm to ourselves and others.

“Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.”

                                                             – Psalm 32:1

What a great place for us to start—at the place of God’s mercy—when we say or do things that cause hurt and harm to ourselves and others.
