August 4 God’s Mercy at Work-1 Samuel 24:1-10

It is so often that we handle anger in our own hands when we are being mistreated or abused. Therefore we might scheme something vulgar or dirty to take for revenge.

The revenge tactic comes very fast and automatic and this is our nature too. How often do I fall into this trap? It is good that the crazy scheme just flashes over my mind but nothing materialized. When I come to senses, I pray God to cool me down and ask God to give me a forgiving heart. Since we are living in a sinful world, it is easily fallen into sinful acts. By the way I know being angry at someone wouldn’t leave us a peaceful mind and soul. And all the side effects are bad for my whole being. That is it. I stop hating that person who mistreated me.

If I believed God would forgive me, so why wouldn’t I forgive him. (Matthew 6:14) “For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” When it seems others are getting away with wrongdoing, we struggle with the injustice. But with God’s mercy at work in our hearts and the hearts of others, we can forgive as He’s forgiven us and receive the blessings He’s prepared for us.
