July 28 Trusting God in Times of Sorrow -2 Timothy 1:6-12

It seems that we cannot accept adversity happening suddenly. Many of us would ask the question”Why?” And also we know that bad things happen seems unavoidable. But what can we do about it. For many non-Christians would think that they must be unlucky or fate and what about Christians? Probably there wouldn’t be too much difference between these two groups of people. However, there is a significant difference for a more spiritual Christian. He would pray to God to provide him with more strength and wisdom to overcome the present situation and the peace to face upfront. Also on the Christian fellowship, the brothers and sisters would put the difficulty in the prayer to release stress and pain that caused it. Many Christians would put their trust to God and they know God will carry them through their faith and God is with them. Through Jesus we can get solace and peace.

2 Timothy 1:12 That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet this is no cause for shame, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day.
