I learned a lesson from the author of today’s devotion. The father risked his life to save his daughter in a house on fire. Both the father and the pastor ran a long-distance carrying an injured girl to the hospital. When one was tired and the other took over to carry the injured one. And finally, they made it to their destination. I believe if two people have the same mind to achieve a goal, the chance of success is more than double.
In Exodus 17:8–13 the Lord orchestrated a great victory that included the efforts of Joshua, who led fighting men on the battlefield; and Moses, who kept his hands raised while holding the staff of God. When Moses’ hands grew weary, Aaron and Hur assisted by each holding up one of his hands until the setting of the sun and the defeat of the enemy. The value of mutual dependence can never be underestimated. Likewise, we can learn from this example when using the resources we have and going through us to others. Together we win and God gets the glory!
