I have some similarity regarding my spiritual life to the author. I figured myself I would reach a certain level of maturity in my spiritual life. To my surprise, my estimation is over-optimistic. Even after 25 years after following Jesus, I still feel my condition is not quite a smooth sailing. I must admit that I am still “under construction” state. To reach to the “finished” stage is still far apart. In contradiction, the process is not done yet while we’re still on earth. We’re still being shaped into His likeness, still “being made holy.” When the day comes, we’ll see Him face-to-face, and we shall be like him (1 John 3:2). But until then, we’re still “under construction,” we are still waiting for the glorious day when the work in us is truly complete.
