August 25 Wonderful Reward -Psalm 119:17-24

When we are interested in something that is our favour, no matter it is coin collection, stamp collection or any other hobby like cooking or photography. We intend to know or understand more. So we would spend time to go into more depths, at certain points, we gain more knowledge and become an expert or specialist. At any endeavour of our choice we would achieve some degrees of satisfaction and that is our wonderful reward.

The psalmist wanted his eyes opened to “Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law” about God (Psalm 119:18). He must have had an understanding that God wants to be known, and so he longed for a deeper closeness to Him and to follow more closely.

(Psalm 119: 97-98)  Oh, how I love your law!  I meditate on it all day long. Your commands are always with me  and make me wiser than my enemies.

We too have the privilege of taking time to meditate God, His character and provisions—to learn about and grow closer to Him. God longs to teach and guide us, and open our hearts to Him. When we search for Him, the rewards are with greater wonder at who He is and the enjoyment of His presence!
