August 13 A Great Work – Nehemiah 6:1-4

Whatever we do in our daily routine matters, even something mundane we should do it as a great job. Didn’t we mention yesterday we live on a mission. The point is to treat what we do in our lifetime simply by taking His job seriously—and doing it well. In doing this can improve our attitude to deal with things and doing it earnestly, so it will likely end up a better job.

Just like Nehemiah began rebuilding the wall around Jerusalem—a task he took very seriously. Toward the end of the project, neighboring rivals asked him to meet with them in a nearby village. The idea is to distract him from his work and an insidious scheme behind it. Yet Nehemiah rejected the invitation and carried on his work.

Although he was not some sort of authority, a big hero or prophet of any kind. He was a cupbearer. Yet he believed he was doing something vital for God. May we take seriously what He’s given us to do and do it well in His power and provision. By copying this example can lead us to a result of great perspective.
