June 24 God Our Provider – Revelation 1:4-7

Most of us have experienced indebtedness in some form – having to pay for homes, vehicles, education, medical expenses, or other things. But I did have such a similar experience. One summer evening four years ago when I was on my way to the pastor’s home for a prayer meeting. When I approached an intersection and found all the traffic lights were gone. I moved on very cautiously and suddenly a pick-up truck appeared in front of me and I applied the brake, followed by a sound of the big bang. I hit the rear bumper of the truck. My car was badly damaged and luckily I was not hurt at all. I was charged for careless driving with a penalty of about $500 and six demerit points. I was extremely upset and worried about the future insurance premium and driving record. The court date was fixed 90 days later. I prayed a lot about the waving or the reduction of the penalty. A friend of my church accompanied me to the court. We waited outside the courtroom for the judge and the police as the prosecutor. The police could not be there due to a special commission. I was dismissed from the prosecution. OMG, I was released without penalty and without charge. I was so excited that I still remembered this incident until today. For the same token, when we received Jesus as our personal saviour, the sins of the past are cleaned and have eternal life and salvation. What a great honour and a great gift of life. This step is simple but its meaning is profound. Better than the surprise announcement of the spare prosecution.
