Many of our simple trees at home looked nothing like the trees in the storefronts, but the love behind every decoration made it beautiful. Like our modest tree, the Messiah didn’t meet the world’s expectations in any way “He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces, he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. “(Isaiah 53:2-3).Yet, in an amazing display of love, “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. “(Isaiah 53:5) Nothing is more beautiful than that. I stopped longing for glitz and praised God for His glorious love. Sparkling adornments could never match the beauty of His sacrificial gift – Jesus. Dear Father, please help me see the beautiful love reflected through the magnitude of Your sacrifice.
