It is difficult to know a person, not even to know a sibling if he or she lives far apart from you. I was at a party a long time ago, one of the kids in that family was sent to England for education. When he came home after he finished his study, he found it difficult to mix with his brothers and sister. He seemed totally a stranger amongst them. He felt himself not a part of this family. This was a big mistake that the parents couldn’t foresee the consequence of when they sent him away.
It’s a very big world, yet God knows everything about it and the people in it—fully and completely. The psalmist David was in awe of God when he considered all the works of His hands, “When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?” (Psalm 8:3-4) God knows you and me more thoroughly than anyone else possibly can and He cares for us. We can only respond, “Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!”
