It is difficult to be a backup member of a team serving in the same organization. Such as the case of a backup president of a country. His Role is to represent the present president in case the president is sick or he is away from his office dealing with some important business. Then the backup president will act on behalf of the president of a country. Is a backup president important, of course. What happens if the president was in grave illness, then the government will elect a new president. It is impossible, especially during war time or in crisis situations. The backup one is equally important as the present one. Therefore, in case you or I were elected to be a backup, we should be happy to serve without any complaint or just doing what our role should be. As far as Christian is concerned, we can do our job and glorify God at the same time. The apostle Paul reminds us (1 Thessalonians 5:5–6) “You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. 6So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober.” With our hope secure in the salvation Christ has provided, we can shrug off any temptations to compete out of jealousy, insecurity, fear, or envy. (1 Thessalonians 5:11) “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. “As we serve on the same team, we can heed Paul’s command: (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
