申命記是摩西的臨別贈言，也是重申律法的一本書，提醒這班以色列人（除約書亞和迦勒之外都是年輕的一代）他們所信的神是與祂的子民相近的神。這是任何異邦的神所做不到的，因為唯有耶和華是真神。摩西提醒以色列人要遵行耶和華公義的律例、典章，因為這是他們的智慧和聰明。
感謝神，祂是與我相近的神。只要我願意遵行神的吩咐，祂的話語是我的智慧和聰明。
4:9 提醒我：『你只要謹慎，殷勤保守你的心靈，免得忘記你親眼所看見的事，又免得你一生這事離開你的心，總要傳給你的子子孫孫。』
我們是很健忘的人。我們需要神的話語來提醒我們。
主啊，教導我將祢的話藏在心裡， 免得我得罪祢。

聖經告訴我們，我們所信的三一真神並非遙不可及，而是在我們求告祂的時候與我們相近（申4:7）；道成了肉身，住在我們中間，充充滿滿地有恩典，有真理（約1:14）；聖靈與信徒結合（約壹2:17）。
願我的生命能見證有主的同在。

There were thousands of undeliverable letters reaching Jerusalem each year, and they were marked under “Letters to God.” But the writers of these letters did not realize “the Lord our God is near us whenever they pray to him” (Deuteronomy 4:7). God doesn’t live in Jerusalem. He’s close by us, wherever we are. And God is right beside you. Just talk to Him. We are so privileged that we can pray to Him as much and as often we want. There are no other gods like Him and He is one of a kind and very unique. What a treasure and glory to be His children.
